Mit meinem Langzeitprojekt #crochetgiantfood setze ich mich mit Lebensmittelverschwendung und dem Konsumverhalten einer wachsenden Weltbevölkerung auseinander. Die überdimensionalen Häkel-Esswaren repräsentieren als zeitgenössische Praxis eine Handarbeit, die ihre ehemals didaktische Bedeutung weitgehend verloren hat und hier als aktivistische Strategie eingesetzt wird. Integriert in multimediale Settings verüben die textilen Skulpturen, durchaus augenzwinkernd, kleine Anschläge auf die gemütliche Normalität.

my long-term project #crochetgiantfood is about food waste and the consumption patterns of a growing world population. The oversized crochet edibles represent as contemporary practice a handicraft that has its formerly didactic significance largely lost and is used here as an activist strategy. Integrated into multimedia Settings perpetrate the textile sculptures, quite winking, small attacks on the cozy normality.
